An Apology to Planet Earth by Symbiosis featuring NATURE - EP

An Apology to Planet Earth – EP

by Symbiosis featuring NATURE

This beautiful blend of birdsong, ocean waves, gentle rain and Amazonian nature with relaxing music by Symbiosis is helping to raise funds for ecological projects world-wide! It is the first release by Symbiosis in through Sounds Right – an initiative established by the Museum for the United Nations – UN Live which recognises NATURE as an artist in its own right and enables artists who include natural sounds in their work to generate royalties to support nature conservation.

A wide variety of original, peaceful natural sounds have been recorded by Symbiosis for this five-track EP, including the Mediterranean sea, gentle waves on a Sydney beach, the songs of endangered birds in New Zealand and sounds from the Colombian Amazon. The music itself is ambient, atmospheric and timeless, and features the mellifluous flute-playing of John Hackett and guitar from Richard Bolton.

The group’s producer and sound designer, Clive Williamson, says, “We are thrilled to be contributing to Sounds Right, as it gives us a chance to ‘give back’ more to the nature we have been featuring in our work for over 30 years now. Nature is an essential part of our lives and it should be supported at every opportunity! The title track is a heartfelt apology to Planet Earth for the state it is in now, and shines a ray of hope for the future. We hope that it will help to raise awareness of the damage we have done and the steps necessary to care for our environment.”

The group’s Music Producer and Sound Designer, Clive Williamson, began recording sounds of nature on a visit to New Zealand, and now that streaming of Symbiosis nature sounds alone has exceeded 3 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music, he feels strongly that it is time to ‘give something back’ to the environment. “We have already supported Butterfly Conservation in the UK and New Zealand’s Tiritiri Matangi Island Nature Reserve,” says Clive, “and now we have the perfect partner in Sounds Right.”

Symbiosis are: John Hackett (flutes and guitar); Richard Bolton (guitars and cello) and Clive Williamson (keyboards, percussion, flute and voice).
