Aotearoa Naturally – Forest & Bird Sounds of NZ

Introducing New Zealand Naturally – Single

by Clive Williamson & Symbiosis

Refreshing nature sounds from the album ‘New Zealand Naturally’ introduced by sound recordist, Clive Williamson from the UK relaxation music group Symbiosis. Clive shares his enthusiasm for the unique sounds he has encountered and recorded around ‘Aotearoa’ – The Land of the Long White Cloud’, including delightful birdsong from the Tui, Korimako (Bellbird) and Tieke (Saddleback). There are extracts from natural soundscapes that can be heard in beautiful locations such as: the offshore nature sanctuaries of Tiritiri Matangi and Kapiti islands; geothermal Rotorua; Waitomo and its Glowworm Caves; Mapara Reserve; and the Pacific coast near Kaikoura.

Other albums of natural sounds by Clive Williamson and Symbiosis include: At Peace with Nature; Australia Naturally; Songs of Hope (The Dawn Chorus, Tiritiri Matangi Island, New Zealand); and The Heart of Nature. (Some of the sounds on this EP were previously released on the album ‘AOTEAROA – Nature Sounds of New Zealand’ by Symbiosis.)

Clive Williamson began recording sounds of nature on a visit to New Zealand, and now that streaming of Symbiosis nature sounds alone has exceeded 3 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music, he feels strongly that it is time to ‘give something back’ to the environment. “We have already supported Butterfly Conservation in the UK and New Zealand’s Tiritiri Matangi Island Nature Reserve,” says Clive, “and now we thrilled to be to be releasing music through Sounds Right and contribute to ecology globally! Our first EP ‘featuring NATURE’ as an artist in its own right is: An Apology to Planet Earth.”

Symbiosis are: John Hackett (flutes and guitar); Richard Bolton (guitars and cello) and Clive Williamson (keyboards, percussion, flute and voice).
